This axe is both a user and a thrower. It is my interpretation of George W. Sear's double bit hatchet described in his 1920 book titled Woodcraft and Camping. The cutting edges come somewhat symmetrical and finely sharp, however we can be more historically accurate by special request and leave one edge thicker for heavy cleaving and such. The axe is hammer forged from high carbon 4140 steel then hardened and tempered as required. The handle is a standard teardrop shaped tomahawk handle, friction fitted, and made of American Hickory.
